The ESSLCE ran in four rounds from June 30 to July 15, 2025 (ሰኔ 23 – ሐምሌ 8, 2017 ዓ.ም.), online and on paper, nationwide.

Results, announced September 2025
The Ministry of Education reported that 48,929 of 585,882 examinees scored over 50 percent, a 8.4% pass rate. That is 12,520 more than the previous year, when 36,409 students passed (5.4%).
308,066 male and 277,816 female students took the ESSLCE. 30,451 males and 18,478 females passed.
